Muscle confusion is like ADHD workouts

So today I had a little tickle in my throat, sure sign of an upcoming cold. Worried that I may not want another prolonged sickness I checked the ever-reliable google and asked the question, “If I feel a cold coming on, should I work out?” Many others had asked this question in forums and health blogs. Basically what I gathered was, “Yes. As long as the sickness is from the neck up. Don’t over do it and listen to your body if you start feeling worse.”

Off to the gym I went with a plan, do everything but my normal routine. I felt a little ADHD. I spent time stretching, normal. Started with 10 minutes walking at an incline on the treadmill, normal. Then I got a little crazy and tried the stair stepper. It isn’t the typical ones I’ve used. It is like a small escalator/treadmill. I climbed to the top where the controls were and hoped I would fall off. I couldn’t believe how quickly I got out of breath. After 3 minutes or so I had enough! So I got on the recumbent bike and went for 25 minutes. Then the ARC trainer for another 10 minutes. I did my upper body weights too. Then I tried this Ab glider and felt pretty silly. As soon as someone came near me on that I stopped and called it quits.

But I think I thoroughly confused my muscles and sweat a bit too!
